From participating on committees and workgroups to contributing your expertise as a subject matter expert to supporting our community at events, we offer many ways to get involved.

Join the Board of Directors 

The Board of Directors meet six to seven times a year. Members of the Board gain valuable continuing education hours, leadership experience, networking, and the chance to contribute to the growth and success of ISM-Akron, Inc. We currently have four positions open! Board Members can earn up to 7 CEH's per year towards ISM recertification and gain valuable leadership and team management skills!

  • Director of Outreach
    • Markets ISM—Akron to internal and external resources and coordinates that lead to increased ISM—Akron membership, meeeting attendance, and member engagement. 
  • Director of Regular Events
    • Reserves ISM-Akron meeting location, collects rsvp's, checks-in attendees, collects payment, and reserves board meeting location.
  • Director of External Events
    • Coordinates external educational webinars, seminars, etc for member development.
  • Director of Speakers 
    • Finds speakers for dinner meetings, writes bios on each speaker, writes, distributes and collects evaluations at each meeting in addition to maintaining records for tracking member CEH.

Participate on a Committee

We offer opportunities to volunteer on ISM committees and workgroups that will provide you with valuable networking opportunities as well as experience diving into relevant supply management topics.

Publish an Article

ISM members are active contributors to our publications, offering their expertise on trending industry topics. All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team for consideration for publication.

Subject Matter Expert

We actively seek industry subject matter experts for article contributions, appointed committee posts as well as for webinar and other speaking opportunities.
